Description
Bmw E21 316 in very good condition, Phase 2, 1. 8l, alpinweiss colour, blue velvet interior, 5 speed gearbox, cigar lighter, compass rear windows, rev counter. The toolbox is complete, the triangle, the jack with the chock are all present, as well as the spare wheel with plate and original boot carpet. New tyres mounted on original sheet metal rims in very good condition. The owner's manual and Bmw service book are in the pocket, as are the original rubber floor mats. Bodywork: No rust. The paintwork was redone by the previous owner, with a few minor flaws (gravel impacts on the front skirt, black piping on the front skirt to be replaced but supplied, small discreet drip). The windscreen and chrome trim are new, and the various chrome and exterior fittings are in good condition, as shown in the photos. The interior is in good condition, despite a few minor imperfections: The dashboard is as new, with not the slightest crack, the door panels and centre console look good, and the gear knob and gaiter are perfect. The seats are well shaped and firm but show signs of wear, but are still very presentable. I also have an identical interior with no tears whatsoever, which can be fitted for an extra €600. All the lights and electrics work perfectly, from the speedo lights to the headlights and even the smallest pilot light. Mechanics: Top engine new: all the seals, including the cylinder head gasket, with rectification of the sealing surface and the valves. Peripherals: new fuel pump, water pump, calorostat, carburettor cleaning and original carburettor adjustment, including auto choke. Replacement of the oil sump seal. 4-cylinder compression top between 9. 5 and 10. 5 as specified in the RTA. Spark plugs, filters (oil, air, petrol) new and fluids changed (engine oil, gearbox, axle, brake fluid and coolant). Front and rear axles rebuilt as new with replacement of all Silentblocs, bearings, discs, pads, drums, shoes, dampers, etc. brake and clutch transmitting and receiving cylinders. All the work was done by myself (except for the cylinder head rectification), scrupulously following the RTA and the few documents available on the internet. I did it with care (it's not my 1st restoration), without altering the original. History: Bought in the south west of France 3 years ago, the odometer showed 35000km, unlikely, but corresponds well to the current condition. If respected (very playful) and well maintained (very reliable and easy to service), it will go to 200, 000km without difficulty. No history before 2019 but I keep a detailed logbook with my interventions and invoices for new parts.
