Description.
The E21 was BMW’s first 3 series in history. It featured a Paul Bracq-designed body with trademark ‘Hofmeister’ kinked C pilar. It also introduced the concept of driver-oriented dashboard and center console. The engine was designed by professional race car driver Baron Alex von Falkenhausen to have hemispherical combustion chambers which several US and European manufacturers use to this day.
This E21 316 was ordered in 1978 in most elegant Fjord light blue metallic with marine blue cloth interior. Its owner proactively fitted a factory supplied set of covers for the seats in the front and back. After 40 years and only 58500 kms he sold it to its second and current owner.
This E21 remains in an astoundingly preserved condition with no signs of wear anywhere on the car and operates like a near new E21. Interestingly all window and engine bay stickers, factory seals and tools present as the day the car left the factory.
