Model History: The Austin Healey 3000 is an iconic sports car, produced between 1959 and 1967 by Jensen Motors for the Austin Healey marque. Appreciated for its elegance and performance, it was nicknamed "Big" because of its powerful 3-litre six-cylinder engine. Among the various versions, the 3000 MK III phase 1, of which only 1, 390 were produced, was distinguished by its comfort and meticulous finish, with a wooden dashboard and rising windows. The Phase 2, of which 16, 320 units were produced until 1967, benefited from a number of technical improvements, including optimised suspension and a quieter exhaust system, making driving more enjoyable. Austin Healey excelled in competition, particularly in rallying, where the 3000 shone in Alpine events. Famous drivers such as Carroll Shelby, Vic Elford, Pat Moss and Timo Mäkinen contributed to its success. Even today, this icon of motor sport continues to seduce enthusiasts and remains entered in numerous historic competitions. History of this Austin Healey BJ8: Sold new in Charleston, USA, in 1967, this car has a known history dating back to 1995, when a Dutchman acquired it. In 2017, it was sold in Belgium, after which we sold it to its last owner in 2021. Body: The bodywork is in excellent condition, with precise adjustments to the doors and bonnet. Additional long-range headlights improve night-time visibility. Upholstery: The blue leather upholstery was restored several years ago and remains in superb condition, as does the blue alpaca bonnet. A superb new wooden steering wheel completes the dashboard, which has also recently been replaced. Engine: The mechanics are in perfect condition, regularly serviced, and fitted with a large HD8 carburettor. The clutch has just been replaced. Gearbox: The gearbox is in very good condition, operates smoothly and the overdrive shifts quickly. Running gear: The front axle has been rebuilt and handles very well. The chassis behaves perfectly. There's no play or noise. The suspension is perfect. It has chrome wheels and new tyres. Brakes: The Austin Healey is fitted with front disc brakes as standard.
