The Appeal
Each new evolution of Mitsubishi’s remarkable Lancer Evo faces the inevitable task of besting the previous generation. With the Evo X, onlookers were unconvinced until the FQ330 arrived, particularly when it was equipped with the firm’s lightening-quick SST gearbox.
Like many admirers we have our thoughts on what that ‘FQ’ moniker means, but suffice to say it likely aptly describes this extremely fast car. With 324bhp pummelling across its four wheels, the FQ330 is not just fast, it grips like few other cars, enabling committed drivers to maintain speed even in the twisties. It all adds up to a compelling brew.
