Modification Summary
There are less than 2000 km on the build. Every interior/ exterior and mechanical aspects have been thoughtfully refreshed. The goal was to have a dependable driver’s car with no performance compromises. The car is build with the goal of maintaining the original matching number engine; rebuilding it and refurbing all parts that connects to it. This will make you enjoy the 240z as a driver’s car with some tasteful moderations.
I am selling since I have accomplished my goals for the car. The car was finished in the spring of 2017, and I have been at a couple of shows with it, with a lot of positive feedback and even more love.
Exterior
- Sandblasted professionally (dent corrected)
- Epoxy coated (no filler directly on metal)
- Epoxy sprayed in cavities and coated with light oil
- Hard rubber coating of inner fenders and underside of the car to protect from stones
- Extended waterlines at trunk to avoid water at trunk area
- Fuel tank cleaned and epoxy treated inside and outside (Chrome fuel tank straps)
- Restomod’ed wiper motor from a Honda (Good wiping action, home function works)
- All nuts and bolts/ larger parts has been replated
- New weather seal all around incl all new rubber parts, even the breather cup for the steering rack
Electronics
- AEM wideband, with gauge mounted in the glove
compartment (possible to uninstall)
- Retrosound 2 radio installed with antenna install in
dash
- Alpine 5. 25 speaker installed in original pods in the
rear
- DEFA DSV90 - alarm system, with level and proximity
sensor incl. (possible to uninstall)
- Extra fuse holder installed to supply power/ ign signal
to equipment, so original wiring has not been cut and
to avoid overload.
- Complete wiring has been unwrapped, checked connecting
plugs cleaned, then repacked in BMW special wiring tape
Interior
- DCW classic complete interior set installed (vinyal and
foam backing)
- DCW mat set (black)
- DCW door cards and now armrest
- Refurbed seats (foam and vinyl) and repainted seat
frames
- Refurbed steering wheel
- Refurbed dash with new vinyl (NO dashcap)

original working blower)

- AME (Enkei) 15x9” mesh wheel refurbed painted in wet
epoxy coating and gold (24K) plated bolts
- Advan Neova AD08R tires (205/ 50-15) wider then normal
road tires
Transmission/ differential
- 5 speed from a 280zx - short shift box (checked and
replaced with fresh
red oil)
- Professional replacing of spiderbearings and balance
drive shaft
- Quaife LSD installed (Best upgrade for driving c
haracteristics)
- Ron Tyler diff mount with GM poly bushing (easy to
replace, if ever..)
Electrical
- Every plug has been cleaned
- Wiring harness has been complete cleaned and re-wrapped
- Relay upgrade on headlights (lower AMPs)
- 80amp 280zx generator with internal regulator
- Fuse box is upgraded to suit std. fuses. A secondary
fusebox has been added to handle the Defa DVS90 alarm,
AEM wideband and the retrosound radio. And the
additional parts are all installed so it can be removed
easily to make it 100% stock.
Bonus items
- OEM Hand throttle, and it works nicely
- Toolbag and tools still in place along with spare tire
- A/ C unit which I removed (need restoring and missing
the compressor unit)
- Spare 5 slot mags incl. new tires
- Stock exhaust manifold
Maintenance
As this renovation is a full nut and bolt job, and no expenses have been spared, maintenance is fully up to date. There is literally not a thing which hasn’t been refurbed or replaced on this car – even the spare tire is new.
Final Words
Drama, uniqueness and spirit
This car is built to have fun with, but also to turn heads. After the first 1500km I went for the first spirited drives and it is just amazing to drive around in. The exhaust tone is simply addicting! And then there is the feeling of just cruising through curved roads.
I’m in no rush, and hope to sell it to someone who can appreciate the time/ effort that has been put into this build. Thanks for your consideration.
