Stand out from the crowd, with a much loved restored camper van, refitted and resprayed only last year. Over £8K spent on works with all receipts available. The interior has been originally restored wherever possible or sympathetically renovated. All the seat cushions were newly made using fire resistant foam and upholstery fabrics, along with new curtains. The wooden interior was removed and restored along with some welding, all works carried out by expert van conversion specialist, the Van Wizard based in Blackbrook, near Belper. A brand new fridge, fuse box, leisure battery, cd player with audio input, new front and read speakers, sink pump, internal lights and hook up all complete along with a new floor, fitted with original 1970s vinyl.
The van can sleep four with the original pull out bunks in the pop-up top. The front seats and the rear seats form the main bed keeping the cooker and sink free to use. The rear doors open and the roof forms a handy canopy - ideal for enjoying the first brew of the day.
We’ve done around 3, 000 miles in the three years we’ve had her and other than an eroded fuel hose she’s never broken down on us. She is heavy to manoeuvre until she’s up and running and then is surprisingly light. There is no synchronised clutch between on these camper vans so be aware that you will be doing a bit of double clutching if changing down gears going up hill. Easy enough to master!
