We have known this beautiful Pearl Blue Metallic Mercedes Benz 300SL for over 20 years having sourced the car back in 2004 for close friends of ours. The SL has now covered a warranted 60000 miles from new with an impressive maintenance history and back in 2004 when we last supplied the car it had just 29000 miles. From 2004 to 2021 the SL covered an impressive 31000 miles, often being used for long distance touring between homes in Edinburgh City Centre and Harrogate, and trips to the North Yorkshire East Coast during the finer weather months. To say the car has been enjoyed is an understatement, it has been loved and cherished over the past 21 years but now with a heavy heart, its long term lady owner has made the decision to part with the SL having not used it for the past few years. Now out of indoor, dry storage, the SL is being MOT tested and fully serviced for its next owner.
E333 TEC comes with an extensive history file that also includes handbooks, manuals and MOT's dating back to the 1990's. An original bill of sale is on file from Clapham, Lancaster Mercedes Benz agents H L Gorner Limited from 1997 selling the SL with a warranted mileage of 22645 miles to a new owner in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The supplying dealership had looked after the car for a number of years with services and maintenance at 19539, 21475, 21656, 21823 and 22338 miles before selling the car in 1997 and subsequently looking after the car at 22674, 23178 and 24744 miles. The well renowned Napoleon Garage Ltd in West Yorkshire then took over maintenance of the SL with services and maintenance recorded at 25198, 27306, 27748, 28174, 28701, 29121, 30307, 30544 and 30624 miles.
From 2004 and now in the hands of our long term friends, the SL was to be looked after by specialists Merc-Care in Pudsey, Leeds. Services and maintenance are recorded at 35254, 38883, 42759, 44904, 45962, 47793, 49505, 50444, 51109, 52421 53347, 54342 and 59709 miles with absolute no expense spared throughout ownership. In 2021 over £10, 000 was spent on a paint re-fresh in the cars original Pearl Blue, and having been kept garaged most of the cars entire life original brightwork is still in impressive condition, as is the cars original factory hard top. The Grey cloth upholstery is beautifully presented and original, and the car also has the optional rear seat option. E333 TEC has an excellent Dark Blue mohair hood and alloy wheels are presented in lovely condition.
With just three former keepers recorded, a lovely mileage of 60, 000 and of course the impressive maintenance history, this 300SL is a very special car. Back in 2004 we ensured we found the right car, and over 20 years on the SL has proven fabulous to own. Finished in a stunning colour combination with a striking paint finish and super straight body, this high quality SL is most certainly a car for the discerning buyer and as proven, is ideal for longer distance touring. E333 TEC has been a reliable, comfortable long distance touring car and with its excellent low mileage engine and transmission, this superbly maintained example is right in every respect.
