The original Westfield Lotus 11 Replica , built by Lotus historic racer and restorer Chris Smith on a unique chassis with panels moulded directly from a Lotus 11, including dents and rivet heads.
This is the car that started the Westfield company.
This car has an extensive history and appeared in many period articles. It was a road tested by Doug Nye for Road and Track. Marcus Pye for Autosport and features in many other publications including the Paul Robinshaw & Jeremy Bouckley book on the Westfield Company.
This is an important historical car with excellent provenance. It has just completed a full restoration by renowned Westfield 11 builder Jim Bickley maintaining as many original parts as possible.
Currently fitted with a torquey 1329cc a series engine with a 731 cam, Aldon ignition. Dave Wells lightened steel flywheel and an unleaded head. It has completed 400 miles since a complete rebuild. Weighing less than 500 kg it is surprisingly brisk .
The chassis has been restored and re-panelled and all running gear overhauled.
The interior has all original upholstery and has a lovely patina, only the carpeting is new .
The instrumentation has been overhauled and a new period cloth wound wiring harness installed.
The body has undergone a full restoration by Race Spray and is resplendent in Old English White with a red stripe.
The car was purchased directly from Chris Smith before the restoration work commenced .
The car is taxed as Historic and correctly registered as a 1963 Westfield and is sold with a extensive history file , period Road & Track and Autosport magazine, other articles on the car, the Westfield Story book and a full photographic history of the restoration.
