1989 MASERATI 228 BiTURBO
Just arrived into stock is this super rare Maserati 228.
One of only 12 UK RHD cars , this is the actual UK press car , so the first of 12 imported by Maranello Concessionaires back in the eighties. Powered by a 2. 8 litre twin turbo engine with a ZF five speed manual dog leg gearbox it drives exceptionally well and without any obvious faults.
In fact it comes fresh from a large service costing almost £1000 at the end of 2021 which included a timing belt change (very important) , replacement oil and filters, new track rod ends, flushed all coolant and replaced, adjusted wheel alignment.
The previous owner has also managed to find some wonderful history to the car which is included in the history folder, just after a year old it passed into private ownership with a gentleman in Leeds who ended up keeping it for seventeen years and in which time he also had a full repaint commissioned aswell as changing the wheels to the ones you see fitted here and a new steering wheel also. It then changed hands twice before ending up with a Maserati main dealer in 2014 who held it as a showroom piece and reportedly spent over £10000 rectifying various faults with it before eventually moving it on when they eventually sold their franchise .
It has currently covered 73000 miles which appears to be genuine as verified by previous mots and history and comes with both keys also. As stated it drives incredibly well , both turbo’s spool up without issue and its incredibly quick even by modern car standards. Any test drive/ inspection more than welcome.
It is of course fully HPI clear.
