Description
Ushering in Ford’s takeover of Jaguar Cars in the mid-90s the new XJ6 models refocussed on improved build quality, improved reliability, and a return to traditional Jaguar styling elements. This beautifully presented 4. 0L long-wheelbase Sovereign is witness that these principles still hold true a quarter of a century later.
Recently freshened-up after a short period off the road, this car is newly MOT’d and drives as good as it looks. Tired paintwork on the boot and roof has been resprayed and all signs of corrosion around the wheel arches and sills completely banished. Mechanically, the AJ16 straight-six engine has been treated to a recent service and runs superbly. New rear exhausts and tailpipes mean there’s nothing more than a whisper even when motorway cruising.
Inside is in great condition (although we need to find a replacement radio knob which has gone missing!). Being the LWB version, the interior is simply vast and boasts a good 6-inches of additional rear legroom to an already large car. The leather seats and fittings are in really good shape and the newly fitted headlining has, quite literally, lifted the cabin and contributed a real feeling of effortless gracefulness to each and every drive.
This really is a lovely modern classic in fantastic condition with nothing to do other than luxuriate and enjoy. Comes with personalised number plate, two sets of keys and some history.
