Hello, L'atelier des 1000 offers for sale this Fiat 124 BS1 Roadster to be restored in a classic Fiat configuration with its red paintwork and black interior with red details.
The 124 comes to compete with the MGB and Triumph, this small convertible is agile and maneuverable while benefiting from 4 seats. Designed by Pininfarina, its pure lines are straight out of the sixties.
The model we are presenting to you is a 1972 vintage and has just arrived from Florida.
THE CAR STARTS, DRIVES AND BRAKES, BUT WILL NEED SOME BODYWORK!
The paintwork is old and will need at least a partial respray, particularly on the rear wing which has a scratch and blisters.
The underpinnings will need bodywork to remove the rust, the rocker panels need to be rebuilt, the floorboards show signs of previous repairs and the bonnet lining, for example, needs replacing.
The chrome is in good condition and sparkling.
The upholstery was completely redone a few years ago and is in very good condition, as are the door panels and the carpets, which were done at the same time. The on-board instrumentation is functional. The soft top is in used condition. The woodwork is in good condition and has a slight patina. The steering wheel, typical of the first series, is still present and in good condition. Mechanically, the car handles well. The 1600 engine starts easily without any noise or smoke, does not overheat and revs easily. Some basic maintenance will be carried out as a matter of conscience. The 5-speed gearbox locks and guides well, while the clutch does not slip. The brakes seem to have been overhauled a few years ago; we note that the hoses are recent and that the calipers and master cylinder seem to have been overhauled.
The undercarriage silent blocks need to be replaced. All the electrics are in working order. The 5-spoke wheels are in good condition, but need to be repainted to restore their shine. The tyres are from 2021 .
