Description
1972 Triumph Spitfire 1300 restoration project.
The car has been off the road and in storage for several years. It benefits from having the rare overdrive gearbox, a set of 5 Dolomite Sprint alloy wheels, a twin stainless steel exhaust and more modern MX5 seats.
The body has corrosion in the usual Spitfire areas, including the sills, floors and valances. It has a steel bonnet and steel front quarter panels.
The car was originally Saffron Yellow but at some time was repainted.
The engine does not run, but does turn over on the starter motor if the solenoid is bypassed. A previous owner appears to have started a conversion to electronic ignition, but this was not completed. There are some boxes of spares in the boot, including many of the original ignition and interior parts.
I have the V5 and a clear HPi report with the car. The car is correctly registered on the V5 as an Historic Vehicle.
If you are interested in the car, you will need to come and see it to ensure it meets your expectations. I will not sell the car or consider offers unseen.
I can assist with loading and may be able to deliver the car locally at additional cost if required.
