Description
The car was originally built in 1959, and is a rarer two seater BN7 of which only 2825 were built. The heritage certificate is included stating it was Colorado red from new and a North American export being exported to Los Angeles August of that year.
The car was supplied with Overdrive Heater, Adjustable steering column, and laminated windscreen. The car was re imported in the late 90s and restored by Gerald Stevenson in Barrow on Soar Leicestershire. There is a full photographic record of the restoration that will come with the car.
I bought the car in September 2014 when it had done approx. 3800 miles since being rebuilt. The current mileage is approx. 6500.
The car had been changed from standard as follows when I bought it;
Denis Walsh exhaust system,
3000 MK 3 carburettors
I was told it has a fast road cam but have never been able to establish if this is the case but she’s lively.
Electronic ignition
Aluminium radiator
Gearbox changed from side change to centre change
Converted to right hand drive
Mota lite steering wheel
Since owning the car, I have added a Kenlow cooling fan and controller and have changed oils coolant etc annually.
In 2020 I had JME Healey's rebuild the gearbox after it had become hard to use and whilst they had the car they also did the following
Installed crankshaft rear oil seal conversion kit
Replaced front wheel bearings and shimmed to correct tolerance
Replaced front discs for thicker uprated type
Fit four pot calliper conversion kit
Replace brake master cylinder to suite new brakes
Re bush and shim kingpins and replace anti roll bar bushes
Fix leak to NSR axel hub seal
Carburettors and ignition timing set up correctly
All for the princely sum of £8987. 86!
The car would come with a hard to come by hard top, soft top, Perspex side screens and tonneau cover.
The car has always been stored properly with a dehumidifier in the garage and on an optimate battery conditioner.
