VW beetle 1969 1500 (1776)
Empi GTV copy
1969 beetle. I’ve owned it since 2016 and done various upgrades. Previous owner had done heater channels and a respray a few years before.
Paint is good although showing age; I cannot see any rust bubbles. After I bought it, I lifted the body from the pan, redid the front inner wing section to fit better and front bulkheads corners as they had just been patched. Rear inner wings are original but I removed the body mount brackets and fixed that due to early rusting. Also repaired driver’s side floor pan corner under battery.

I replaced the front beam with a good standard second hand due to rust. Unfortunately, one of the beam bolts snapped and I had to drill out, this now has a through bolt of correct strength. Front beam runs empi zero offset dropped spindle, with extra offset camber nuts and kyb shocks. Front brakes are 1500 discs with new calipers, original calipers will be supplied with car.
Rear suspension is stock with kyb shocks.
Engine is a 1776 built about 6 years ago.

Interior has flat4 repro wood steering wheel, eliminator gear shift, winder handles and door pulls.
Dash had radio hole cut but has been repaired and blaupunkt radio fitted; does work but speaker removed.
Dash speaker trim replaced with gauge pod, tacho/ oil temp / oil pressure, original grill will be supplied with car.
Original white interior, driver’s door card has repair where a speaker was.
Rear repro pop out windows, stock windows will be supplied with car.
Chrome rear light clusters, originals will be supplied with car.
Pioneer bluetooth head unit under driver’s seat, JBL front speakers in kick panel pods, rear has 10” sub.
Have GTV wing decals- just not fitted. Also have set of GTV side scoops (not fitted).
Great usable car that I’ve enjoyed, but ready for a change.
