For sale, Rare chance to acquire all three Husqvarna 400 cross models (1969, 1970 and 1971). All the bikes have been restored to as close to original as I can make them.
The engines have been fully rebuilt with new piston, cranks, clutch and bearings (SKF or FAG). The 1969 and 1971 bikes have complete brand new gearbox and the 1970 bike is in excellent condition with two replacement gears. The cases along with hubs have been blasted and stove enameled.
The tanks are genuine Husqvarna and not Indian replicas. The tank's have been re chromed before being painted with the correct shape Chrome panels and finished off with the appropriate thickness white pinstripes. The bikes have the correct decals for the year on the tank, mudguards, frame and air filter.
The frames and tanks have been painted using 2 pack paints.
As many original Bufo bolts have been used as possible. All parts have been bright zinc plated. The 1970 and 71 bikes have been rebuilt with original style Berg Union clover leaf spokes and nipples. The 1969 has stainless steel spokes nipples with new steel rims.
Each bike is fitted with NOS girling shocks and original fitment Renolds chain. The Bing carburetors are all the correct number and have been fully rebuilt, ultra sonically cleaned and fitted with new slides, needles and jets.
The controls are all correct Magura with the addition of a Magura kill switch for peace of mind. The handlebars are the low cross brace on the 69 and 70 bikes with the high brace being used on the 71 bike.
The seats have been recovered with the correct thin piping and the base has been replated.
The bikes are fitted with new tyres. The 1970 bike has vintage pattern Pirelli the other two have NOS Trelleborg tyres though the front tyre on the 71 bike has some cracking on the sidewalls. Unfortunately the tyres are slightly wider than the original 4. 00 x 18 tyre so it is not possible to fit a chain guard.
The ignition systems are NOS Femsa with modern pattern ignition coils.
Cables are secured with correct style metal cable ties.
Each bike has been completely rebuilt, starting easily and running perfectly. The engines are all oil tight (lapped cases). I have added an O seal machined ito the clutch cover on the kick starter shaft to stop the usual weeping when the bike is leant over. All bikes are fitted with the original side stands.
