Descrizione
I have for sale a 1952 example of the Royal Enfield RE2, the post war civilian version of the Flying Flea paratroop motorcycle.
This is currently the only example I can find for sale in the UK at the time of advertising, its a fairly rare beast! It was cosmetically restored a few years ago by a museum trust, later being sold back into private hands.
I purchased this bike in a 'mostly restored' condition with the intention of getting it running well and having a classic patina'd weekend run about, however no longer have the time that it really deserves. The paint is a little distressed, but there is little to no rust anywhere on the bike. It was struggling to run when I bought it, so I removed the carb and had it ultrasonically cleaned and it is known great condition. This has helped drastically, but I believe it still needs new points, condenser and possibly a coil to run well.
The gear change spring needs replacing, the electrical work detailed above completing and the foot rubbers/ controls tidying up. It would be a great daily classic with the mechanical/ electrical work completed or as a great base for a straight forward restoration.
If you have any questions, please do send me an email. I am open to offers.
