Description
The four seater Ferrari 400 GT (GT = manual gearbox) was made in just 147 examples from 1976 to 1979 - it is thus the rarest 4 seater V12 model since the introduction of standardized bodies at Ferrari. The 400 still uses the same 4 cam engine (with slightly increased capacity) of the famous 365 GTB/ 4 Daytona. Its power output of 340 HP is superior to the later fuel injected models.
The body style can today be considered a Pininfarina masterpiece with its timeless and clean design.
This particular example is finished in azzuro metallizzato (light blue met.) combined with beige leather and blue carpets.
Its owner history is known from the day of completion at the Ferrari factory (June 1st, 1978).
The car has undergone a six month thorough refurbishment at an official Ferrari workshop. Its mechanics have been revised (engine heads, timing chain, exhaust, suspensions, new gaskets on gearbox and differential) and body and interior have been detailed. Overall, almost 300 hours of work have been spent on the car. The interior is still the original one in very good condition - no need to replace leather or carpets.
We consider the 400 series, particularly the 400 GT carburettor cars, to be among the Ferrari models with the highest potential for a significant rise in value.
We believe that there are not more than 100 cars left of the 147 unit production run.
The car can be seen at our showroom in Hamburg near the international Airport. Emilia Auto is specialised in Ferraris of the years 1975 to 2005.
