We have pleasure in presenting for sale a one-off 1968 Jaguar 340 "MK2"
Originally ordered by a fashion magnate, this car spent the majority of its life in California and as a result it’s probably the closest you can get to a completely ‘rust-free’ Jaguar from this era.
Selected for it’s structural condition, the car was recenrly bought for inclusion in a new motoring TV series, and has since become a labour of love for our expert presenters. This has resulted in an individual, artisan vehicle that stands apart from other examples and brings a fresh and twist to the MK2.
Significant amounts of time and money has been spent: this has included a full frontal respray in British Racing Green, comprehensive corrosion treatment, bespoke bonnet straps, custom wheels from Image, and Coombs-style louvers professionally cut into the bonnet at a steel-working expert.
Performance from the 3. 4 litre engine is powerful and smooth. The engine has been overhauled and starts easily, and runs evenly.
In automatic spec, the 340 is easy and forgiving to drive and the gears change smoothly.
The steering has been overhauled and feels accurate.
New springs have been fitted to slightly lower the car from standard to achieve a meaner, sportier stance. The brakes have been overhauled with new calipers on the rear.
Inside, the whole interior has undergone substantial refurbishment with new items from GB classic trim. All woodwork has been professionally re-veneered at a cost of more than £2000. The seats and headlining have been re-trimmed.
