Description
Very original Marshal bodied left hand drive Series 2a 109 Land Rover. This truck served in Germany with the British Army on the Rhine(BOAR) for most of its life, it was shipped to BATUS in Alberta after 1985, where it stayed until it was discharged in 1993, having our owners since it has been out of service. It is registered as an 1970 but I believe it was built in late 1968 as it was delivered to BOAR in Jan 1969.
The ambulance is sitting on a 3/ 4 ton heavy duty military frame and Salisbury rear axle. The frame has been undercoated by the miltary since new and is in very good condition. Truck is fitted with dual fuel tanks, both tanks are rust free, tank senders and change over tap work. The body panels show some wear but no rips or large dents, the only rust is a small 1/ 2" hole in the passenger side footwell and the front of one front frame horn; both easy fixes. It is currently fitted with new, non- directional tires similar to the original military tires fitted. The unique rear insulated body is complete with (5)stretchers, 2 first aid kits (full). All rear tinted windows have metal screens and blackout curtains. All lights and gauges work as they should on this truck, including the siren! I will include a digital copy of the orginal military "B" card showing the trucks full military history.
Recent work completed:
-Completely stripped old interior roof panels and resealed/ repaired roof
-Installed new hardboard interior panels to match the originals
-Repaired all rear window blackout curtains with orginal hardware
-Repaired poorly done patch on passenger side of roof
-Replaced drivers side door top frame
-Changed all oils and filters in engine, gearbox and running gear
-Converted to alternator
-Replaced any missing fixtures with correct bolts and screws
-Replaced oil/ water temp gauge with genuine NOS gauge
