Sunbeam Avenger 1600GT FIA Race Car
New FIA Passport issued 26/ 07/ 2024, Period H1 (Group 1).
Originally built from a 1300 car and not an original 1600GT, it has been built within accordance with FIA homologation No 5407 to 1600GT spec.
Fast car in its group and won many races, completely overhauled in 2024 and driven one successful season since. I am only selling it due to now racing a Mk1 Cortina and possibly also a Mk1 Escort. I will be sad to see it go as it has been a great car to race and has been extremely reliable.
Recent works:
• Bodywork repair and painted (Dec 2023)
• Engine opened and checked by Petteri Sappinen, new main bearings, piston rings, new camshaft, valve seals etc. (2024)
• Gearbox opened and checked by Petteri Sappinen (2024)
• New works type quick steering rack (2024)
• New Bilstein dampers front & rear (2024)
• New Radiator with attached electric cooling fan (2024)
• New Minilite style alloy wheels and semi slick tires (2024)
• Four wheel alignment (2024)
Engine was run-in and setup by Special Tuning Harinen, 120hp/ 167Nm. As this is a group 1 car, there is not much homologated for engine tuning, if converted to Group 2 there are more tuning options.

• 1. 6 engine block, very hard to find
• Cylinder heads
• Brakes and suspension spares
• 4 x Cosmic alloy wheels
• Used quick rack steering
• New front slam panel
• Many other odds and sods
It is also road registered and can be driven legally on the roads.
