Description
Rover P6 2000 SC manual series one, finished in Brigade Red Built 10th February 1969 and despatched to W. Holloway & Sons of Worcester. The car was registered on the 1st March to a Mr a Bridge of Hanley Castle. The car has had serious restoration work twice, first in the early 1990’s it had a panels off glass out restoration when over £8, 000 was spent, over double the cars value at that time ! Much of this work was carried out by a Jaguar/ Land Rover engineer, whose father owned the car and had worked on the original chassis design for the P6. The car was disassembled and sent to Rovers Return in Rochdale. The engine was rebuilt and the interior finished by a Jaguar/ Land Rover upholsterer. The second restoration took place in 2013. There is a link for video on youtube just after its second restoration on my web site. The car has also featured in a TV program in the late 1980's involving Rowan Atkinson.
More recently the car has had some cosmetic paintwork, engine detailed while out for a new clutch and slave cylinder fitting. Other recent expenditure includes a new old stock front bumper and re-chromed rear bumper, boot interior re-trim, new radiator, series 2 header tank, new Unipart washer bottle & pump, new front and rear matching seat belts ( original Irvin belts are with the car ). The car has some nice and useful upgrades, including a vintage Securon high-level brake light, Lucas square 8 fog lights with covers and original Unipart radio, it also has a factory heated rear screen, rear fog lights and hazard lights, even the Kienzle clock keeps perfect time.
The car comes with a large file of paper work, handbooks, heritage certificate, jack and wheel brace plus two sets of keys. Overall a very nice and well sorted series one P6, one of the nicest I have seen in a while.
