This Woodcote Green MG RV8, manufactured on 1st May, 1995, is a beautifully maintained example with a comprehensive history file documenting its meticulous care throughout its life.
This MG has been upgraded with several key enhancements, including an EZ electric power steering kit installed by an MG specialist, a new steering rack, a refurbished rear axle, and a replacement windscreen and frame. Regular servicing has kept it in excellent condition. It comes complete with its original owner’s handbook, marketing brochure, and a tonneau cover. The car presents beautifully inside and out, still featuring its original black soft top, which, while functional, would benefit from replacement in the future to make this an outstanding example.
The MG RV8 marked a revival of the iconic British brand, with the slogan "The Marque Has Returned" at its debut during the British International Motor Show in 1992. Limited to just 2, 000 units, the RV8 was exceptionally well-received, particularly in Japan, where 75% of production was exported.
Using a British Motor Heritage MGB body shell with redesigned front and rear wings, the RV8 featured a 3. 9L V8 engine. This powerplant, producing 190PS and 320Nm of torque, propels the car from 0 to 60mph in just 5. 9 seconds, showcasing a perfect blend of performance and heritage.
On the road, the RV8 offers a dual personality. At 70mph, it cruises effortlessly at just 2500rpm, with luxurious leather seats, air conditioning, and the radio providing a comfortable driving experience. Alternatively, for spirited driving, drop a gear, mute the radio, and enjoy the thrilling growl of the V8 engine.
