Description
A very rare example of the legendary R8 Gordini in its original rally configuration. The exceptional state of preservation comes from 45 years of storage in a box, protected from light and humidity, and justifies its remarkable original condition. The car has only had 1 owner in 50 years, and there are a few surprising details: the door plastics used to protect the car when it was delivered new are still in place!
Due to rally use in the early years, some equipment has been left in place, such as a very rare Tripmaster and 2 Tag HEUER watches, a 6-point roll bar and a direct rack Unrestored, original paintwork and condition excepted:
Dust removed, cleaned Front bonnet repainted as the 1st owner had painted it matt black, the fashion of the time Mechanical overhaul limited to routine maintenance and to making vital functions reliable for trouble-free use: radiator, ignition, brakes, shock absorbers, belts....
