Much of the Porsche 911's development had resulted from the factory's racing program, and it was the then Group 4 homologation rules, which required 400 road cars to be built, which spurred the development of 'Project 930': the legendary 911 Turbo. In production from March 1975, the Type 930 Turbo married a KKK turbocharger to the 3. 0-litre RSR engine, in road trim a combination that delivered 260bhp for a top speed of 250km/ h (155mph). Refined over the years while retaining its high-performance edge, the 930 Turbo sold in the thousands, becoming the definitive sports car of its age.
This matching numbers engine and chassis example was first registered on January 2, 1989 and currently has 120, 375 km on the odometer. The current vendor and fourth owner bought it in 2015 and had it extensively restored, both mechanically and cosmetically, by Andy Prill (2 years restoration), an internationally renowned Porsche specialist in England. The interior was re-upholstered in white leather, as originally fitted (invoice of 21, 600 available in file), by Lagler in Austria.
Sold with a complete history, a set of photos, factory documentation, a tool kit and the emergency road compressor, this stunning Porsche 930 Turbo still retains its original factory sticker under the hood.
Finding a 930 as beautiful and as meticulously restored as this one is exceedingly rare. In our opinion, it is one of the finest 930s currently available on the market, having covered only a few hundred kilometers since its stunning restoration.
