Description
The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most iconic cars of the twentieth century, and after its release in 1961, the first major update to Jaguar's sensational E-type came in 1964 with the launch of the 4. 2-litre version. As well as a more powerful engine, the car benefited from a more user-friendly gearbox. The car's exterior appearance remained unchanged apart from the '4. 2' badge, but under the bonnet many details were improved. This particular example was delivered new in 1965 in New York as a left-hand drive, two-seater convertible in a beautiful dark blue colour, with matching soft top and light blue interior.
The E-Type returned to Europe (Spain) in the 1990s. Its Spanish owner decided to restore it completely and had it repainted in black, with a black interior and black soft top. The Jaguar spent a few years in Germany before being acquired in 2015 by the current owner, a Belgian enthusiast.
At the time, the car was fitted with a 4-speed manual gearbox, which he replaced with a Getrag 5-speed gearbox. He also decided to repaint the E-type in its original colour, a deep midnight blue, during the winter of 2020/ 21. Since then, the car has regained its timeless British elegance and is registered in Belgium as a collector's car. It is driven regularly and has a total of 64, 500 miles on the clock. The Jaguar E-Type comes with its Heritage Trust certificate.
