Created to celebrate the MX-5’s 25th Anniversary, this limited edition model featured some really nice touches. Each car came with Soul Red Metallic paint, Brilliant Black mirror covers, A-Pillars and style bar covers, diffuser style rear bumper and 17-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels to add to the classy look, while the interior is finished in Light Stone Leather with embossed logos in the headrests, a matching red dash trim, and each car is marked out by numbered chassis plaque. Just 1, 099 examples were produced with 749 coming to the UK.
This particular car has clearly been very well looked after, the last owner of 7 years has been a lady Doctor, and it has covered just 26k miles with a full service history, predominantly from Mazda man agents. It also comes with two keys, and the original book pack and instruction manuals.
I have just had the alloy wheels professionally refurbished and powder coated in the correct gunmetal grey, and it has good Bridgestone tyres all round. The beautiful metallic red exterior retains a deep shine and is in lovely condition overall with no heavy dings, dents, or damage. You may of course find a tiny mark here or there but nothing worth mentioning or that would detract from the car.
The interior is also in great order, and well appointed with heated seats, cruise control and a good sound system. The electrically operated retractable hard top is in perfect working order and very easy to use.
On the road the car performs exactly as it should, and handles very well due to the factory Bilstein suspension. It pulls up sharp and square under braking, and the power steering makes light work. The 2. 0 litre petrol engine runs beautifully with plenty of power through the slick 6 speed manual gearbox.
To sum up, this is a very genuine, attractive and collectible example of the world's best selling sports car, and I am sure the new owner will be very pleased.
