Description
In our ownership since 2010, this Delta remains a very original example in excellent condition, never having been, or requiring restoration. The interior alcantara has some minor ‘bobbling’ but is otherwise immaculate and the dashboard and fixtures and fittings are all carefully preserved. It even has an unmolested rear parcel shelf!
This is a standard European specification 8v and has air conditioning. Apart from a couple of aftermarket hoses and the black grille surround, it is completely original inside and out. The body and paintwork are in excellent condition, including the infamous rear of the roof panel, though this is a 36 year old car so it has a few age-related marks and there is a small bubble under the seal on the base of the rear window. Overall though, it is incredibly clean and tidy.
On the road it feels tight and direct, just how it should, and when it gets on it’s tippy toes, the magic is still there.
Originally sold new in Italy (Padova), it was imported into the UK in 2000 (recorded mileage then was 74, 900 kms) and has service history going back to that time. In our ownership it has seen little use but has been professionally stored and had periodic preventative servicing, including a thorough service by Auto Integrale in 2015, a new rear section of exhaust and again this September a cam belt/ aux belts/ water pump major service carried out by ourselves. The current mileage is just under 110, 000 kms. Recently MOT’d and road tested, the car is now ready for use with a new owner.
The car was also featured in Auto Italia as well as on the front cover of Phil and Michael Ward’s book, Bialbero. A studio photoshoot was carried out at that time and a set of photos come with the car. It also has the original folder, handbook and a Clifford alarm system.
If you are looking for a genuine early car that is ready to use and enjoy – or just admire! – then this is it.
