Description
We are delighted to offer this stunning 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4. 2l Coupe, prepared for track and competition use, as well as fast road use. This example was originally produced and delivered to British Leyland in New York, USA, in 1970, then registered in Cromwell, Connecticut by its first owner. The car was later converted into this “fast-road” specification in 2007, including the addition of a Series 1 bonnet arrangement and Minilite style alloy wheels, before its arrival to the UK in 2011.
In 2016, later works were completed by The Carriage Company including having the engine rebuilt completely with the addition of triple Weber carburettors and a free-flow manifold and exhaust. Subsequent improvements include an Alloy radiator, uprated cooling, Wilwood brakes, adjustable shock absorbers, a foam-filled fuel tank, along with the necessary roll-cage and Monaco Pro competition seats complete with TRS harnesses.
This E-Type was designed as a gentleman’s racer and fast road car, and performs brilliantly as both. It has been consistently well maintained, with very occasional use over the years, both on track and the road. It is complete with the Jaguar Heritage certificate, along with all the receipts and description of works.
