Description
Mercede Benz 230 SL in elegant dark green "dunkelgrun 268" body with mohair hood and "cognac 140" interior, all matching colour. Car in excellent condition, with new hood and original Hard Top.
Mechanically restored to new condition with engine, injection pump and accessories restored to new by Mercedes Benz experts, the car can be seen at the factory and is ready for every test drive. Born from a 1961 project and presented in Geneva in 1963, the demands of Mercedes management were clear: the car had to be brilliant, spacious, comfortable and with an attractive line.
Designed by the team led by Paul Brack, it was an immediate success in Europe and the U. S. Mechanically linked to classic layouts with a front engine, rear-wheel drive and 4-speed manual gearbox as standard and automatic on request, the 230, however, featured a new 6-cylinder in-line engine with a good 150 hp, which also gave it a certain racing ambition with victory in the 1963 Spa Sofia Liège rally.
