EXTERIOR
This low mileage Turbo 2 looks magnificent in its factory colour scheme of Pearl White with grey accents. The paint presents in excellent unmarked condition with a deep and even shine to the body. The contrasting bumpers, spoiler, and sill covers are also in excellent condition and retain the correct matte finish. The car is fitted with genuine Cibie Iode fog lamps in perfect working order. All the grilles are in fine condition with no damage to report, and the doors are finished with the correct Turbo 2 fade-effect decals. The turbine wheels are entirely unmarked and are shod in recently fitted TRX tyres that have seen little use. All in all, a highly impressive and original example in a stunning colour combo, looking every bit the low mileage of just 52k.
INTERIOR
The interior is a great place to be with the comfortable R5 seats and the original Iso-Delta wheel. The upholstery is unmarked with no sagging issues. The leather steering wheel and gear knob are also in excellent original condition, and the beige carpets are well protected in the footwells by a newly fitted set of tailored overmats in black with beige edging. The carpets are generally un-faded and quite remarkably the original luggage straps are still fitted.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
With only 52k miles under its belt the car drives really well and sounds fantastic through the stainless exhaust. It’s certainly an experience when you’re behind the wheel, and the surge of power from the turbo is quite addictive! The car has very recently returned from a well-regarded marque specialist who carried out a full service and check over with new brake pads and discs all round. Aside from a bespoke Devil-style exhaust, Cevennes 4-into-1 manifold and a larger intercooler, the car is unmodified and still retains all the charm of a period-correct example.
HISTORY FILE
Finished in original Pearl White over beige this lovely example has driven only 52k miles from new. Presenting in excellent all-round condition the car offers a rare opportunity to purchase one of the 80s’ most exotic and sought-after hot hatches.
Unlike many other examples that are a little light on paperwork, this one is accompanied by an excellent maintenance record and history file with paperwork dating right back to 1985. An original Renault dealer document pouch is present and includes a Turbo 2 owner’s manual. There is a stack of invoices detailing the car’s life to date including an official dating certificate from Renault in France. The V5C shows only 4 former keepers and it comes recently serviced and MOT’d for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
