Description
Only two left on UK roads. 2. 8L slant-6 engine with 3-speed push-button auto transmission, V-200 was the top-of-the-range Valiant, original AM radio, power brakes added, full service history including original bill of sale. Recent brake linings and weatherstripping restored. Transmission professionally rebuilt by Australian mechanic in London in 1995. Unusually good green/ white/ black interior. Factory undercoat has done a very good job of keeping rust at bay. Wonderful artifact to the end of the era of American fins. Professionally resprayed in 1986, later converted to two-tone. Otherwise, quite original. The 95300 miles are all original (I bought it with 40000 miles on it). Many spare parts including radiator, back axle, starter motors and alternators (unsure of how well they work), boot lid, bonnet, spare doors including windows, assorted carbs, headlights, bushings, idler/ pitman arms, assorted trim, service and parts manuals. The car is very easy on the oil, and I've regularly changed it, and done all the lube regularly, including the speedo which is why it still works. There is some body rust and some filler, but the floors are fairly clean. Comp insurance with my limited mile policy (under 3K miles a year) comes to around £130 and of course there's not road tax. Very rare in the UK and Europe. Much smaller than other Yank tanks of the era (under 16 foot) , and it was perfectly useful as my daily for years (gets about 30mpg on the motorway) so it's smaller than a Volvo. I bought it in Washington DC in 1985 and brought it to the UK in 1993. It has been garaged since I owned it up until the last year or so. I am sad to let it go, but I hardly use it anymore as the family prefers the comfort of a modern car and we're possibly going carless in the next year or so. Plenty more photos and details of repairs and defects available.
