** Car failed MOT on rust/ welding required in rear arches, August 8th. See government MOT website and photos. Car still shows MOT until end of September. Car will be uninsured and SORNed from this weekend (13th).**
Lovely LS400, with VVTi and the 5spd auto (280hp).
Bodywork in average to good condition. Some rust bubbles above windscreen and on arches. Front driver's side wing replaced at some point in history. Paint comes up very nicely with no lacquer peel etc.
Interior (grey leather) in excellent condition.
Engine and gearbox excellent.
Cambelt replaced 5 years/ 20k ago (stamp in book), lots of time and mileage left.
Car is on 190k, belt changed 170k.
All electrics/ gadgets etc except aerial work fine. Air con ice cold. Heated seats worked fine (in all four seats) last winter. CD player in glovebox also fine.
Driver's window runner slightly noisy.
Front brakes replaced in 2019, including shim kit from Lexus. Brakes still squeak slightly when very warm.
Oil change/ minor service end of last year. Not covered many miles in last 18 months.
History/ receipts and book pack/ V5 all present.
Wheels were refurbished and powder coated and are in excellent condition.
Rear mufflers deleted, lovely burble/ roar at full throttle, but settles down quietly at 65-70mph as expected (2200rpm, 5th gear locked up).
Capable of 35+mpg on a gentle run. Engines are legendary.
A good project with lots of life left in it mechanically if you can weld. I sadly have not the time or finances to have the work done.
