Description
AJS manufactured during the twenties V-twins with 800cc engines. For the model year 1929 the big V-twin was redesigned: the 74×93 bore x stroke dimensions of the 799cc model were changed to 84×90 resulting in almost 200cc extra capacity. The company described the new twin as possessing “an enormous reserve of power coupled with flexibility, docility and low speeds and silence”. The model was offered as an ideal sidecar machine or equally as a fascinating solo mount.
This specimen, which is not often found in such beautiful condition, was one of the jewels in a private collection.
It is equipped with an AJS three speed gearbox with hand gear change lever, Lucas ignition system (magneto with dynamo) including headlight, Amac carburetor, Terry leather saddle and toolboxes.
The AJS runs and rides well with plenty of power, videos are available and can be sent on request.
