I’ve owned this for a little while as a bit of a stop-gap whilst my Mk2 golf is away having an engine swap.
I’ve always wanted a Corrado and I bought this car purely because it’s so tidy with a great spec and has had a boat of time, money and love thrown at it mostly from the previous owner. I would keep it if I had the storage space for it.
Some of the work carried out is as follows:
Full chassis refresh, including new bushes, ball joints, top mounts, JOM coilovers, Eibach ARBs, powder coated front cross member and subframe with new bolts.
Steering rack rebuilt, new gaiters, arms, bushes and track rod ends. New subframe mounts.
Glass out respray in 2017, including passenger wing replacement and small repair to OS rear arch. Windscreen aperture cleaned and treated before paint. New green tint windscreen with new seal.
Engine bay repainted as well as slam panel.
312mm mk4 GTI front brake upgrade, rear callipers upgraded to Mk4 items. New lines up front.
Engine rebuilt in 2018 (Around 1k miles since) with a lot of new parts, chain changed etc.
Alloy radiator with twin 10” slimline fans, 6 branch into Jetex stainless exhaust, new Bosch lambda probe. New clutch and slave cylinder. Oil pump, water pump, thermostat and housing, temp sensor for ECU, alternator, crank sensor, air inlet sensor, coil pack, HT leads, PAS pump, injectors flow tested and serviced.
Rare electric Recaro UV seats, front and back. Black Alcantara headlining and pillars trimmed. Black uncut parcel shelf. Mk4 golf handbrake conversion. All speakers replaced with alpine, old-school mini-disc head unit.
BBS RX201 5x112, 8J, ET35 alloys in mint condition. Fitted with 15mm and 20mm adapters front and rear. Plenty of tread on tyres. Wheel alignment carried out recently.
Recent work and changes:
Fitted Audi TT wiper arm upgrade, with Bosch 20" aero wipers.
Fitted new ABS reluctor rings on rear.
Replaced radiator thermo switch and fixed wiring; used mk2 golf connectors.
Replaced gearbox speed sensor.
Fitted Osram night breaker bulbs.
Fitted new seat bushes.
Fitted new ignition switch.
Fixed lambda wiring.
Fitted new smoked side repeaters.
Fitted proper PCV breather pipe.
Fitted new rear boot seal.
Issues (I may fix some of these, will let you know):
Sunroof doesn't work, a non-sunroof, black lighting panel has been installed.
A few marks in paint, chips, scratches etc. Some areas touched in.
Handbrake needs wiring in for dash light.
Needs replacement bonnet foam.
One bulb on clocks is out.
Manual override switch for fans no longer works since fixing wiring and rad sensor.
Very minor oil leak, looks like sump gasket.
This is a fantastic example Corrado, which needs very little to be considered “finished”.
Gets attention and comments everywhere you take it. Mileage may increase slightly.
Loads of paperwork, pictures and receipts to back up the work. Feel free to ask and I’ll send you some more pictures.
Will come with enough parts and spare to fill the car.
