The Jaguar XJR from the 40 series was the sporty showpiece of the XJ series built in 86/ 94 at the time, the XJR was created in collaboration with TWR, Tom Walkinshaw Racing, the company that had the sporting branch of Jaguar under its wings, with the highlight being the Le Mans victory in 1988 with the Jaguar XJR-9LM driven by, among others, our Jan Lammers.
The XJR 40 is distinguished by a sportier and lower, 2 cm, chassis, modified steering behavior / brakes, special 16 inch alloy wheels and a more potent engine, 251 hp / 377 Nm at 4000 Rpm. Externally, the XJR can be recognized by the aforementioned rims, special side skirts and various XJR badges and the specific black diamond grille, in the interior the odometer clock up to 260 kmh with the Jaguar Sport decals, stainless steel door sills also with Jaguar sport engraving.
Our XJ 40 with the 4. 0 6 cylinder 24 V engine is from 1993 and one of the 228 LHD with 4. 0 ltr engine. It has done a documented 159510 km, board folder with all booklets present, originally delivered new in Germany where it had 2 owners, imported 2020 in the Netherlands where it has had one owner until now. We can be brief about the extras, almost all options that were available at the time are present, including a perfectly working Climate Control and the electric sliding roof. The Jaguar makes a very good impression both optically and technically and is one for the real enthusiast who loves something special. The low production numbers of the XJR guarantee an invalue in the future.
