THE APPEAL
Launched in 1968, the Audi 100 Coupe S was a sports fastback grand touring coupe. Based on the C1 platform, over 827,000 units were produced, but only approximately 30,600 of those were the fantastic-looking Coupe S models, and the rest were saloons.
The Coupe S was also produced in South Africa, which is where this one has resided for the majority of its life.
The Audi has been standing outside in the sun for several years, which has obviously affected the car's condition, both inside and out. The desirable Coupe S does require recommissioning and some bodywork carrying out. Although with that said, the sun damage is only on the surface and looking at the underside and chassis, it is very clean for the age of the vehicle, so it could also be a project which retains its patina?

SUMMARY
The Audi 100 Coupe S are few and far between nowadays; finding one in a usable condition is quite difficult, so with that in mind, the next option would be a project. This is where this 1972 example comes in, despite the appearance and surface rust. When you look around the car at the key areas, such as in the engine bay at the chassis legs, you will soon realise that it looks worse than it is, and it's quite a good car as a base to work with.
