THE APPEAL
The sports car DNA was an essential part of the Porsche Cayenne’s DNA, meaning that although it was an SUV and a complete new direction for Porsche when it first appeared in 2002, it was still a high-performance model.
Indeed, the turbocharged range-topper could accelerate from 0-60mph in less than five seconds, making it almost as quick as a 911. It had a top speed of 166mph and permanent four-wheel-drive.
Almost 21 years since it made its debut, the Porsche Cayenne is now an increasingly popular modern classic, with a strong following from those who want the cachet of a Porsche badge, family-friendly practicality and strong value for money.
This one is a wonderful example – a full-fat Turbo S Tiptronic with an incredible specification. It’s finished in unusual Dark Olive Green Metallic (a very dark green that appears black in some lights) and is trimmed in two-tone tan leather with a rare Alcantara headlining that was a £2,000 option when new.
It’s supremely well-equipped with rear DVD screens, heated front and rear seats and BOSE audio, with 20-inch alloys and a factory Aero Kit. A7406352.jpg564.2 KB
THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK
UK V5C
New MOT on sale
Book pack, Porsche wallet and all original manuals
Combined main dealer and independent specialist service history
Invoice for alloy water pipe upgrade and replacement header tank – a major plus point
Lots of invoices for prior repairs and servicing
Invoice for full and recent ceramic paint treatment
If you want a superb example of the absolute flagship of the first generation Porsche Cayenne range, then this one will take some beating. It’s a lovely car in remarkable condition, finished in a stunning and highly unusual colour scheme and spotlessly presented inside and out.
The specification is absolutely incredible – when new, the car would have cost over £100,000. That makes it hugely appealing and an incredible bargain today, especially for such a well-maintained and looked-after example.
