The Appeal
Launched in 1999, the E53 platform BMW X5 shocked the car industry as BMW’s first luxury SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), although most people refer to it as an SUV. The X5 was a premium off-roader but with car-like handling characteristics said to be enhanced by the all-wheel drive system, putting 62 percent of the torque to the rear wheels, making it feel like a performance saloon. The performance wasn’t the only thing the X5 offered; the interior was luxurious with full leather, satellite navigation, and plenty of other creature comforts, making the X5 a pivotal point for moving the brand forward.
This lovely example, 2004 BMW X5 4.6is, is the high-performance sports version of the X5, released in 2001. The X5 4.6is features more bhp, 20” wheels, larger brakes, additional wheel arch trims and different front and rear bumpers; also available in Black, Imola Red, Titanium Silver and this wonderful Estoril Blue. The car comes with just over 55,000 miles and has an excellent service history, and aside from the main dealer who registered the X5, it has remained with the vendor from virtually new.

This is illustrated in the exceptional internal and external condition of the this unique X5 4.6is.
