The Appeal
Audi may believe it invented the hyper estate with the RS2. Wrong. It began here, with Subaru’s Legacy.
The joy of the Legacy is that beyond the factory standard sports estates there is huge scope to make it faster and better.
That is the story of this first-generation car. It is an original UK market model that has had just five registered keepers from new - the current one for the last 20 years of its life. It certainly looks factory standard, but equally definitely isn’t.
The vendor says over £40,000 has been spent on improvements across the engine, gearbox and chassis! It features a practically new "Blueprinted" engine, with dual engine MAPs by Bob Rawle Developments which can be switched while driving. it comes with a significant quantity of spares as well as a detailled photographic record of all the work carried out so far. The extensive history file further records a raft of improvements, while the array of auxiliary dials, under bonnet upgrades and even those figure-hugging Cobra seats tell their own story.
