Cylinder head gaskets replaced just over 1000 miles ago
The Appeal
If you’re asking legendary French designer Paul Bracq with the design of your new coupe, it’s safe to say you’re after something truly special, and something truly special was exactly what BMW received in the late 1970’s when they were presented with the all new E24 6 series. Created to replace the legendary E9 BMW, this was never going to be an easy task, yet the nail was very much hit on the head with this new evolution in super coupes. The E24 found multiple different forms throughout its production run from 1976 to 1989, but the 635csi was the poster child, the flagship of the lineup, sporting power, comfort, and naturally, style.
Now sporting much needed power in the form of BMW’s M90 6 cylinder engine the 635csi almost instantly acquired legend status, and is still seen as one of the finest BMW’s most collectible BMWs of all time.
This 1987 635CSi is a wonderful example of the revered model, and comes to us in good, aesthetic and mechanical form. Having had its cylinder head gasket replaced around 1000 miles ago and a host of bodywork and welding performed prior to that, it's in good stead to be preserved as a highly original show car but lends itself similarly well to more regular use as a stand out classic coupe.ItQm8etRTAM0EfqTCeR2GusjtJKV41d44eR1xfxJ.jpg734.62 KB

Surely one of the finest coupes built to date, the 635CSi is a stylish, well performing, reliable slice of classic BMW, that welcomes a more dynamic B-road drive just as much as a road trip from Lands End to John O Groats.
With a cylinder head gasket replacement around 1000 miles ago and a host of welding work performed, this highly original 1987 model is certainly one of the better presented examples out there. Finished in a high factory specification it makes an ideal classic BMW show piece or would work nicely as a stylish classic daily driver.
