1972 Triumph TR6 Overdrive

Highlights

  • Originally a LHD car exported to the US
  • Imported and converted to RHD in full restoration 1990
  • Lovely condition

The Appeal

The TR6 is a popular British classic and with good reason: it looks great, sounds glorious and goes well. But back in the day it was considerably more beloved of US drivers than those in the UK, with almost 90% of production headed over there.
This example started life as one such LHD export, as shown on the accompanying heritage certificate, and was repatriated in 1990 when it was treated to a comprehensive restoration and conversion to RHD.
During its time in the UK, it’s had just 4 owners, staying with the current owner for over 10 years and, having covered fewer than 3000 miles in that period, it remains in fine condition. If you’re looking for a great way to enjoy the Indian summer that we’re all hoping for, then this looks an ideal choice.

Summary

A lovely example of a Federal spec TR6 that has been nicely restored and converted to RHD. In lovely condition and lightly used in the last decade, it should make for a fine ownership proposition.

During the rebuild the chassis was held vertically and a gallon of wax oil was poured down each chassis leg and then inverted 24 hours later to run back down.
