The Appeal
Classic four-seat convertibles are rare beasts, which partly explains the perennial popularity of the sleek, Italianate Stag. That and the car’s magnificent, burbling 3litre V8 which surely has one of the greatest engine notes of the last 50 years.
These cars are also relaxing and rewarding to drive with attractive wood-trimmed interior. A vibrant owners scene further dials up the appeal.
Good, well maintained cars command a premium and here is one. A very tidy, factory-standard Mk1 finished in popular yellow it sports an older restoration by model specialists including extensive mechanical refurbishment. This is a clearly much-loved example of a great summer cruiser.
