The Appeal
The Unimog. Where do you start? These all-purpose tractors have become everything from snowploughs to railway shunters, and continue to be the world's go-to for a truly remarkable all-purpose utility vehicle.
The Mercedes Unimog 421 was first introduced in 1966, a medium option that offered a little more versatility compared to its often outsized classmates such as the 406. While nobody can claim these tractors were built for aesthetics, it can't be denied it's a pleasant-looking package - with its short wheelbase, shallow cab and raised profile giving it a distinctly perky appearance.
This particular example, with its impressively low mileage and excellent condition, is a unique find. The vehicle has been well-preserved, is reportedly running as well as the day it was built and, to our eyes, looks like a superb example of a highly desirable flatbed.
