The Wolseley and Riley versions of the “1100” were produced for just two years from 1965 until 1967. These early models are something of a sweet spot in ADO16 production with better build quality, leather trim and various attractive early features – they are also perhaps the rarest of all the 1100 models with just a handful of MK1 Wolseley cars left on UK roads.

Here we have a very ...

The Oxford MKV1 “Farina” was launched in 1961 and was the last in the line of Morris cars to bear the name Oxford. It was produced until 1971, the Austin, Riley and MG versions were dropped in 1969 but the Wolseley and Morris versions were kept on for two extra years. They were dependable and surprisingly good to drive but many have disappeared – their robust nature made them popular on the ...

This car is a series one Rover P6 V8 with a very interesting history. The registration number “KXC” will be familiar to P6 enthusiasts as many of the development and press cars carried this prefix. It was bought new by Sir Leslie O’Brien, governor of the Bank of England, in late 1969. He opened the Earl’s Court motor-show in October of that year so it’s likely that the factory were involved ...

The Riley 4/ 72 was produced from 1961 until 1969. BMC’s model hierarchy was complicated in the 60’s but the Riley versions, which combined luxury with increased power were the most expensive, costing around 20% more than an Austin A60. Consequently they sold in much smaller numbers and just 14, 000 4/ 72’s were sold out of a total of 550. ...

The Austin 1800 or ADO17 was launched in 1964 and won “car of the year” in 1965.
