This extremely rare 109" Series 2 is chassis no 361 of the 1959 model year.
Only 1089 utilities were built in 1959 and most were worked to death with a handful remaining.
Wesley as he is known was the 1st Land Rover supplied by Akeds of Blackpool on acquiring the Land Rover franchise.
Registered as PFV 389 on March 18th 1959.

This early V8 Discovery is a very original example.
They didn't make the the carburettor version for very long before the EFi version came along so these are really the suffix A of Discoverys!

This early MK1 Discovery is one of the few carburettor 3. 5 V8's produced before fuel injection came in.
Seen as the holy grail of Discoveries these are comparable to suffix A Range Rovers and are very collectable now.
Off the road for many years it will need a full restoration.
Very straight bodywork, will need welding in all the usual places ie sills, inner wings, boot floor ...

Chassis number the details below was despatched into build on 21st July 1958 and despatched out on 24th July to Murkett Bros Ltd of Bedford.

The chassis number makes it a Home Market RHD 2. 25 petrol and it was finished in mid grey.

They were all painted in Oxford Blue Metallic with cream leather with all the Vogue SE features.

This is a very exciting find with only 2 owners and 61, 500 miles from new.
These early Discoveries are the Holy Grail for collectors as the carb version was superseded very quickly in favour of the fuel injection.

I specialise in finding these very rare early Series 2's.
When the Series 2 was launched in April 1958 Land Rover did not have enough of the new 2. 25 petrol engines so continued to make use of the the Series 1 2. 0ltr engines and gearboxes from the previous generation.
They only made 1702 Home Market 88" RHD vehicles of which this is one.
