The Appeal

Easily one of the more iconic Land Rover vehicles, the Defender 110 has received plenty of praise over the years, thanks to its practicality, iconic styling, and rugged nature. It’s a vehicle that will gladly tackle most tasks presented, including off-road trails, daily driver action, and work duties.
This particular Defender is a fantastic example of the utility vehicle we all love, having been restored only last year. This 110 now sports a fresh coat of paint, new hardware, a gorgeous tan interior packed with comforts, and plenty of cosmetic upgrades.

It’s safe to say, if you’re looking for a well-prepared Defender 110 that needs absolutely nothing to be enjoyed, this is the vehicle for you.

The History and Paperwork

  • Just 1 former keeper
  • MOT until 2 September 2023
  • Stripped down & rebuilt last year
  • V5C document present
First registered on December 30th, 2008, this Defender 110 has since covered just shy of 135k, with just one former keeper. In addition to boasting such a low owner count, the vehicle has the added benefit of being subject to a rather comprehensive restoration, last year. The process consisted of a full strip-down, interior overhaul, mechanical refresh, and a fresh new coat of Aintree Green paintwork.
Now, the vehicle stands in excellent condition and presents a fantastic opportunity to own a tastefully styled, well-performing Defender 110, with plenty of MOT left to enjoy.

The Interior

  • Full tan leather interior, with a black cubby box
  • Fully sound-proofed and carpeted throughout
  • Fitted with a double DIN head unit & DAB radio
  • Fitted with focal speakers, and an Alpine subwoofer
  • Electric windows & central locking
  • Excellent condition
As part of the vehicle’s extensive rebuild last year, this Land Defender received a new tan interior, including both front & rear quilted seats. Having covered rather few miles since being re-upholstered, the seats are in excellent condition, offering superior comfort, and an excellent amount of contrast against the Aintree Green exterior.
The tan quilting extends to all 4 door cards, which also present themselves in great condition, with only minor blemishes and indents. Both carpeting and headlining throughout the vehicle is also in excellent condition, with the front carpeting being protected by a set of rubber floor mats.
Accompanying the comfortable tan pieces, are a few more modern touches, such as the Pioneer head unit, and DAB radio. Paired with focal speakers all around, and an Alpine subwoofer neatly incorporated into the cubby box, this makes for quite a high-quality listening experience, typically uncommon with these older Land Rovers.
Although not as electronically dependent as newer models, this Defender also shows off electric windows and central locking. Buyers will be pleased to know that these features and all electric components within the cabin are believed to be in full working order, with no known faults.

Overall, this is an exceptionally sleek cabin that truly enhances the passenger experience, offering additional comfort and welcome features. Only minor signs of use are present, and the interior reflects minimal wear since the vehicle’s restoration.

The Exterior

  • Previously restored
  • Finished in Aintree Green
  • 18” XTR Lucari alloy wheels
  • Full exterior lights
  • Roof-mounted LED light bar
  • Swing-away spare wheel carrier
  • NAS step
  • Stainless steel DRL bumper, with billet surrounds
  • Tinted rear windows
  • Excellent condition
As previously mentioned, this Defender was stripped down and restored last year, and now shows off a fresh coat of Aintree Green paintwork. As you would perhaps expect, the paintwork presents itself brilliantly and suits the vehicle perfectly. That said, there are incredibly minor imperfections, such as towards the bonnet, although these are seldom noticeable.
Accompanying the fresh paintwork, are a host of new components, such as a new swing-away spare wheel carrier, DRL bumper, and new stainless steel hardware. The vehicle is also fitted with LED lights and a roof-mounted LED light bar, which are certainly a must for driving off-road or through dark winter nights.

This defender sits on a set of black 18” XTR alloy wheels, which show off a brilliant finish, and match the accompanying black details rather tastefully. The wheels come wrapped in a  set of Cooper all-terrain tyres, with plenty of tread to enjoy on, or indeed off the road.
Overall, the vehicle clearly benefits from its restoration and looks absolutely brilliant today. With only a few incredibly minor imperfections, this Defender is sure to attract the admiration of onlookers for years to come.

The Mechanics

  • Powered by a 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) unit
  • 6-speed manual transmission
  • Previously restored with new stainless steel hardware
  • Fitted with Bilstein shocks & Eibach lowering springs
  • Runs & drives exactly as intended, with no known faults
  • MOT until 2 September 2023
This generation of Defender is powered by the 2.4L turbocharged Ford unit, otherwise known as the “Puma” engine. The introduction of this new drivetrain introduced a host of interior & styling tweaks, such as the iconic bulge on the bonnet, and the removal of the manual air vents seen on older models. Although rather controversial at the time, this powerplant and gearbox combination has proven its worth, even offering the upper hand for motorway driving and off-road action.

Buyers will be pleased to know that the vehicle fires up right away, and is said to perform without fault. As part of its restoration, this Defender now also sports a host of upgrades, such as the Bilstein shock & Eibach spring combination. As a result, the vehicle offers a far more comfortable ride, with improvements to both handling, and the vehicle’s stance.
With plenty of MOT left to enjoy, this Defender 110 needs nothing to be enjoyed and will continue to impress for many more miles to come.

Summary

Having been restored last year and fitted with a host of mechanical upgrades, interior comforts & styling tweaks, this Defender 110 Utility presents an excellent opportunity to enjoy one of Land Rover’s most iconic vehicles.
With winter approaching, this would no doubt serve as a comfortable daily driver or trusty workhorse, especially with plenty of MOT to enjoy.
