Now that Harley Davidson have discontinued the Deluxe model, examples of this quintessential modern classic , scarce in this condition, will no doubt continue to be an appreciating asset.
The Softail Deluxe beautifully combines the timeless styling and character of a classic cruiser with modern comforts and reliability, giving the rider the best of both worlds. This example is smartly finished in a very pleasing two-tone colour scheme with acres of chrome embellishment.
Add to that the exceptionally low mileage and you have a recipe for a truly special bike.

Overall, the condition of this bike is truly excellent.
The paintwork is smooth and beautifully finished, with the two-tone finish suiting the character of the bike perfectly. There is no damage or even any significant blemishes that we were able to identify.

This Harley is quite liberally lathered in chrome, all of which has a deep shine and no evidence of pitting, dents or corrosion. It’s clear that the bike has been meticulously cared for, and the fact it has been kept indoors has clearly done much to preserve it in wonderful fashion.
The leather trimmed saddle is in lovely condition, with no evidence we could see of wear or damage to the leather. The bike offers a low 24.5” ride height and foot-forward controls, making it a comfortable steed to cruise along on.
All of the controls, badging and other trim elements, such as the lights, present in exceptionally fine fettle too. Try as we might, we could barely identify a single blemish on the whole bike. We especially admire the classic style spoked wheels and whitewall tyres too.
The vendor tells us that all the switchgear and instrumentation operates just as it should, with no faults they are aware of. In all, it's a lovely machine.
The Mechanics

That hearty 45-degree, twin-cam V-twin puts out a very healthy 67hp and 116Nm. More than enough to whip the Softail along with a fine shove. The transmission is a standard 5-speed heel-and-toe shifter, with a final belt drive delivering that power to the rear wheels.
Keeping everything in control are those lovely, brightly chromed front telescopic forks and a single brake disc at either end, replete with 4-piston callipers for plenty of bite.
We’re assured by the vendor that the bike rides very well, the engine operating perfectly with an excellent exhaust note, fine handling and smooth gear changes.
