The Appeal

The giveaway is that polished black roof. Or perhaps you clocked the optional Recaro Pole Position bucket seats. Because this is not a regular Mk1 TT. It is one of the 800 Quattro Sports sold in the UK, the sought-after version that is quicker, lighter and even more agile.
The Quattro Sport makeover was not a mere marketing exercise. Out went the rear seats to cut weight, in went a brace to stiffen things up. The battery was relocated and the parcel shelf binned to improve weight distribution. Stiffer suspension and a power hike to 240bhp - from 225bhp - all make Audi’s stylish coupe, with its limpet-like cornering abilities, even better.
Buyers could specify these cars with Recaro’s Pole Position buckets. Let's be glad that the first owner of this Avus Silver car did, because they are not just rare, they look superb. These ones are even more unusual in being black rather than body colour.
It is a very well kept car, pleasingly factory standard - aside from a modified back box and induction kit - and showing few signs of its 19 years. A thick history file supports the impression of caring keepers, a run of 13 service stamps from new to July 2024 being a highlight. The cambelt was changed 5,000 miles ago in 2022.
Only 500 of the 800 Quattro Sports are believed to remain on UK roads. These cars are, for many, the ultimate version of one of Audi’s genuine modern classics. A long, advisory-free MOT to July 2025 adds further ‘head’ sensibility to the compelling ‘heart’ appeal.

“It’s great fun to drive, gives a fantastic driving experience and stands out. It’s very rare. It was built in the Audi Sport factory and has the very rare bucket seats. I think it will be very collectible in the future and definitely a future classic.”
