The Morgan Aero 8 marked a genuine revolution for Morgan. Charles Morgan called it "the result of the greatest development project ever undertaken by the Morgan Motor Company". Combining preformed and bonded aluminium with a variety of hand-finished bespoke components, the Aero 8 marked a turning point for the Malvern-based company. It used BMW powertrains, as it still does today; in this case, a 4.4-litre V8 coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox.
This 2004 example, presented in Aston Martin's Mendip Blue colour with a beige interior, is a late version of the 1 Series with just 25,000 kilometres on the clock. The seller, the second owner, has taken great care to maintain the car in perfect condition, with regular maintenance of the leather and the application of a protective PPF film to the bodywork.
This Morgan is accompanied by a well-stamped service book, a photographic record of its construction and a certificate of conformity, providing a complete history of its existence. With servicing and MOT scheduled for sale, this Aero 8 will be ready to be fully enjoyed by its next owner.
Five-spoke magnesium alloy wheels in very good condition for their age
Elegant original bodywork with close-fitting doors, bonnet and boot
Chrome honeycomb grille and badges in excellent condition
Mohair soft top in good working order
Beige leather upholstery regularly maintained
Air conditioning and electric windows in good working order
Wooden steering wheel with stainless steel central hub
This Morgan remains very faithful to its original version and is in remarkable condition for its age, thanks in particular to its extremely low mileage and the care taken by the vendor. The seller informs us that the bodywork and paintwork are free of any notable defects, while the interior benefits from regular leather treatment. Everything is reported to be in good working order, including the electric windows, air conditioning and manual folding roof.
Don't let its vintage looks fool you. These Morgan Aero 8s are resolutely high-performance cars. 1-Series cars like this are powered by BMW's M62 V8, mated to a six-speed Getrag manual gearbox. We're assured that this Morgan's maintenance is up to date and that it offers an exceptional drive.
This sale is subject to Car & Classic's terms and conditions. By bidding and/or making a bid, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, which means that consumer rights arising from European consumer protection legislation do not apply. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic's terms and conditions.
✓ We require a non-refundable fee to be paid if you are the lucky winner of the auction or if your bid is accepted. Please refer to our FAQs and terms and conditions for specific fees.
✓ This vehicle is "sold as is", on an "as is, where is" basis and without warranty. Photos and descriptions are for illustrative purposes only and it is customary to carry out a full vehicle inspection prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer's deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final offer or tender price, as specified in the advert.
✓ We want the transaction to go as smoothly as you do, which is why UK-registered cars and motorbikes offered for sale on Car & Classic are HPI-checked to ensure they have no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and are not financially pledged, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off as part of a total loss at the time the advert is placed on Car & Classic and provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the status of the vehicle and it is always worth carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
✓ Buyers are responsible for the collection or delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles may incur additional customs duties and import taxes. If you wish, we can recommend a third party transport company who can assist you. For more details and to speak to the team, email [email protected].
If an auction vehicle doesn't sell, it may be converted into a “Make an offer” listing. This will retain all of the details of the auction listing but replace the bidding functionality with an offering system whereby potential buyers can make an offer on the vehicle. To take the hassle out of the whole process and to prevent any unnecessary squabbling we'll automatically decline anything less than 70% of the asking price so only offers that are worth considering will be accepted. Make an offer listings include a “Make an offer” button. Simply click on this and enter the amount you’d like to offer and the seller will either accept, decline or counter. Easy peasy. If you don’t have a Car & Classic account with a registered bank card you’ll be prompted to set one up at this point.
If your offer is accepted, you’ll be charged a service fee. The amount depends on the cost of the vehicle and is an additional cost on top of the offer amount. Starting from as little as £/€300, it covers the cost of our various auction and escrow services, but rest assured, we're not in the woollen eyewear business and so the exact amount is always displayed upfront before you place your bid. You will only be charged if your offer is accepted.
The service fee is a charge in addition to any accepted offer amount that varies depending on the cost of the vehicle. Starting from as little as £/€300, the exact fee is clearly displayed upfront before any offer is placed so you always know exactly how much you'll be charged. It covers the cost of our various auction and escrow services and allows us to continue to provide a secure and professional platform from which to transact safely.
If you've ever squeezed a lemon then this'll be a doddle. Firstly you'll need to be logged in to your Car & Classic account and have added a valid payment card to your profile. Once these steps have been completed you can then make an offer by clicking on the "Make an offer" button on the listing page and entering your offer amount before clicking on the “Submit Offer” button underneath.
