The Volkswagen Golf GTI Anniversary Edition is a special version of the iconic hot hatch, offering a unique blend of performance and practicality while celebrating the car's enduring legacy. It's little wonder that the 25th birthday of the Golf was treated with quite a level of occasion - with only 1,800 of this special edition were sold in the UK.
Boasting the 1.8L Turbo-charged engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, the Votex body kit, BBS alloys, vented discs with red calipers and - of course - a top-notch GTI-detailed Recaro interior, these beautifully spec'd cars were a smash hit.
This 2002 model, with its black exterior and distinctive grey and red stripe interior, is a fine example of the breed. This eminently usable car remains an enjoyable and engaging drive, true to the Golf GTI ethos. After a little work, we've no doubt it'll be a simply superb modern classic.
